Warm Lemon Water

A simple, soothing drink that's perfect for starting your day or enjoying between meals. Warm lemon water is both refreshing and comforting – it gently wakes up your digestive system, hydrates your body, and provides a small dose of vitamin C. This is the kind of ritual that costs almost nothing but makes you feel like you're doing something genuinely good for yourself.

Step 1

Boil water and let it cool slightly until it's warm but not scalding – around 50-60°C (110-130°F). You should be able to comfortably sip it without burning your mouth. Water that's too hot can destroy some of the beneficial vitamin C in the lemon.

Notes

Use fresh lemon rather than bottled lemon juice for the best flavour and maximum nutrients. Don't use boiling water – warm is best to preserve the vitamin C. Add fresh mint leaves for extra freshness. Include a pinch of turmeric or cayenne pepper for an anti-inflammatory boost. Try lime instead of lemon for a different citrus flavor. Add a cinnamon stick for warmth and subtle sweetness. Make it cold by using room temperature or chilled water with ice for a refreshing summer drink.
