To make the cherry jam (optional):
1.
Add frozen cherries to a pot and cook over medium heat for 7–10 minutes until softened. Lower the heat, cover, and let simmer for 15 minutes. Then, mash with a fork or potato masher until smooth (or leave some chunks).
2.
Stir in chia seeds and any extras (sweetener, lemon, vanilla). Let it simmer for 5 minutes, then let it cool before storing it in a jar in the fridge.
To prepare the oats:
1.
In a glass or bowl, combine oats, (plant) milk, sweetener, cacao powder, and chocolate chips (if using). Stir until well combined.
2.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or preferably overnight.
3.
Then, spread a generous layer of cherry jam on top of the oats, followed by a layer of yogurt.
4.
For the chocolate shell, melt a few chocolate pieces in a small saucepan on low heat to prevent burning. Then, let it cool slightly, before pouring it over the yogurt layer. Place the oats back in the fridge for about 10 minutes until the chocolate hardens.

5.
Garnish with a fresh cherry on top and crack through the chocolate shell for the perfect dessert-like breakfast.
